The truth, please, about food

The truth, please, about food

Food survival manual

Guest: Monia Caramma

The cultivation or breeding methods determine the quantity and quality of the chemistry present on the food (herbicides, biostimulants, drugs, pesticides) as well as the transport methods (sterilizers on foodstuffs). They are substances that we ingest. The cocktail effect is currently ignored in scientific research but contributes to the onset of intestinal and other symptoms and disorders. In Sardinia some farms are a virtuous example of cultivation, transformation and respect for the environment.

The truth, please, about food

Food survival manual
Mind Edizioni, 2023

What do the foods we eat really contain, without us being aware of it? Through neuromarketing, the food industry “forces” us to buy its products, scientifically circumventing legal regulations and nutritional tables with the use of fictional claims and distorted information. And, since our only guide is commercials, no one, neither the producers nor the media, helps us find the answers we seek. This book reverses the trend: the author provides simple practical rules that allow us to read food labels critically, unmasking the presence of adjuvants, colorings, additives and hidden sugars. And she also speaks very transparently about nickel, vitamins, non-EU raw materials and fruit, Basmati rice, vegetable drinks. A manual aimed not only at people who want to know more about what they put on the table, but also at anyone who suffers from food intolerances or illnesses of any kind, to help the reader find the best compromise between the wallet and healthy eating. A lucid and clear text, free and independent, which has only one objective: to make shopping at the supermarket as conscious as possible, also with an eye towards the new generations. Significantly, the book ends with this appeal: “Be the thorn in the side of the food industry, it is the only way to give a healthy future to our children and grandchildren.”
