The association ScienzaSocietàScienza announces a competition regarding the graphic study of a creative concept/visual for the image of the institutional communication of the Cagliari FestivalScienza, XVIII edition 2025.
The call is reserved for students of artists’ high schools and graphic high schools in all Italian regions.
The title of the 18th edition of the “Tramas” festival implies the message that the ScienzaSocietàScienza association wants to convey:
The concept of “tramas” refers to the interweaving, network of relationships, and structure that defines a complex system. Its application extends from botany to ecology, from physics to sociology, as the “tramas” symbolizes the intertwining of elements that interact with each other, generating emergent phenomena.
In the ecological context, for example, “tramas” can refer to the network of interactions between species in an ecosystem, where each organism, in turn, is part of a larger network that regulates the stability and functioning of the system itself. Similarly, the neuronal “tramas” represents the connections between nerve cells, creating a network that allows the transmission of signals and the formation of circuits that underlie cognitive and behavioral functions. Another example comes from materials science, where the mechanical properties, such as strength and flexibility, of a composite material are all influenced by the arrangement and orientation of the fiber weave.
“Tramas” is a stimulus to create new connections, to weave new plots, to give shape to an ever-evolving reality.
The final sketch must be square, measuring at least 15 x 15 cm. The logo and text are the responsibility of ScienzaSocietàScienza. Contest participants undertake to declare that the graphic work is the result of their own design ability and creative originality. They must attach the relevant preparatory studies and, where applicable, cite sources to the final work.
The drafts must be delivered in paper and electronic format to the teacher responsible for the school by May 18, 2025, together with personal details, the class attended, and the reference teacher.
In each institution, a maximum of ten papers will be selected by a special commission established within the relevant school, which will send them by regular mail or email to
segreteria@festivalscienzacagliari.it by May 18, 2025.
The material received will not be returned.
The prizes consist of the assignment of books and gadgets up to a maximum of ten selected for each institution.
The prizes are awarded only and exclusively to the winning students present.
The ScienzaSocietàScienza association, organizer of the festival, reserves the right to identify the most suitable draft from among all the final sketches received for use for the intended purpose. The chosen sketch, which will stand out for the originality of the proposed idea and its relevance to the theme, can be reworked by a communication professional to make the image adaptable and effective in the different and necessary communication media.
The winner will have the honor of seeing his or her study published on the cover of the 2025 edition brochure, with the author’s name and the school of reference clearly indicated.
The association has the right not to make any choices if it does not deem the works presented suitable and to exclude from the selection works that are reworks of images owned by other authors.
Contest participants acknowledge and consent, pursuant to Legislative Decree 196/03, that their personal data will be used by the contest organizers for purposes related to the contest’s implementation and will also be processed electronically, but will not be disclosed to third parties.

Experiments with humble materials. The ScienzaSocietàScienza Association opens its 2026 program with a special meeting with Professor Ugo Galassi, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM in Cagliari, at the Aula Magna of the Pacinotti Scientific High School. Free admission.

On November 27, 2025, the Members’ Assembly of the ScienzaSocietàScienza Association elected the officers for the three-year period 2026-2028.
