The concept of “Tramas” represents the very essence of interconnection. It is the complex web of relationships, the network of connections, and the architectural structure that defines and supports every complex system. This concept finds application across many fields of human knowledge, ranging from the most rigorous scientific disciplines, such as physics, mathematics, and biology, to the most profound expressions of the humanities and the arts. In this context, the metaphor of the textile weave is particularly evocative: it symbolizes the interweaving of heterogeneous elements, sometimes apparently distant or contrasting, which nevertheless interact in often surprising ways, generating emerging phenomena that transcend the properties of the individual components. “Tramas” thus presents itself as a powerful intellectual and creative stimulus, an invitation to forge new connections between knowledge, to build bridges between disciplines, to give concrete form to a constantly evolving and transforming reality.
In the 2025 edition of the Cagliari FestivalScienza, this concept translates into concrete practice: just as on a loom, where warp and weft threads intertwine to create a single fabric, so elements from diverse cultural and scientific fields merge to bring together seemingly distant traditions and generate innovative solutions to the problems of our time. This wonderful plot once again sees schools as protagonists, along with the fundamental contribution of universities, research institutes, and institutions.
My heartfelt wish to all participants in the 2025 edition of the Cagliari FestivalScienza is that the proposed cultural connections will enrich us as individuals and as a community, strengthening the informed scientific citizenship our society so desperately needs.

Despite being from a Jewish family, he managed to graduate in Medicine in 1943, as the fascist racial laws allowed those already enrolled to complete their university studies. Thanks to her medical degree she managed to survive the concentration camps where she was interned.
