During the scientific show “From Pascal to the Bar: 400 years under pressure!” commonly used materials will be used – such as balloons, toothpicks and foil – and other more technological ones (such as vacuum pumps) to demonstrate physical phenomena related to pressure. The objective of the activity is not to be understood in a notional sense: more than the transfer of concepts and the learning of physical and mathematical rules, the show aims to arouse the curiosity of the participants, putting them in a position to take a free and personal interest in science.
Furthermore, the show is a tribute to the genius of Blaise Pascal, a French scientist born exactly 400 years ago.
