Born in Brindisi, but lives in Cagliari, neurobiologist and pro-rector of research at the University of Cagliari.

The motivation for the award reads “For the important contribution that her research in the field of neuroscience has given to the expansion of knowledge on the brain system responsible for the control of movement and emotions, paving the way for new therapeutic opportunities for neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease; for the attention in promoting studies capable of highlighting the differences in the efficacy and safety of drugs determined by gender; for the passion and commitment with which she has always dedicated herself to university teaching and the dissemination of scientific knowledge among the youngest, to improving the education system, to the dialogue between science and society, to the defense of scientific research, to intermediation between institutions and territory.
