As part of the 2020 competition, by the Department of Equal Opportunities of the Municipality of Cagliari, the Young Woman of Science Award was assigned to Raffaella Mulas, 28 years old, researcher from Cagliari, scientific diploma from the Euclide of Cagliari, three-year degree in mathematics in Udine, specialist in Bonn, doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, today she divides her time between the Alan Turing Institute in London and the University of Southampton.

WANGARI MUTA MAATHAI

[Ihithe, 1940 – Nairobi, 2011] Kenyan environmentalist and activist. In 2004 she was the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. She was a Kenyan parliamentarian and Assistant Minister for Environment and Natural Resources in the government of President Mwai Kibaki, between January 2003 and November 2005.
