Newspapers, weeklies, radios and televisions have always dedicated ample space to topics such as paranormal phenomena, astrological forecasts, contacts with extraterrestrials, often treating all of this in an uncritical way, without any control criteria. Furthermore, today, thanks to the Internet, unverified claims in support of unproven therapies, urban legends, historical forgeries and conspiracy theories are increasingly common.
But how is a pseudoscientific theory born?
